Being a teacher for most of her adult life, teaching yoga truly brings Mary joy. Mary loves connecting with students on a personal level, enabling them to find comfort and ease in their bodies and guiding them on their yogic journey as their practice deepens. Mary Baker began her 200-hour teacher training in 2009, the same year her parents were diagnosed with terminal cancers. She credits her yoga practice with giving her the physical, mental, and spiritual strength she needed to face such a challenging time. After completing her 500-hour yoga teacher training in 2013 with True Nature School of Yoga, Mary completed a specialized 100-hour “Yoga of the Heart” cardiac and cancer certification. This was to fulfill her calling to help those living with cancer (and heart disease) and their caregivers. She has also completed 50 hours of training in Yoga4Cancer – a technique developed by cancer survivor and master teacher Tari Prinster.
