What Movement is the “Triple Hinge” Hip Sequence?

Question

What is the triple hinge movements that John Conroy from Ireland talks about? Is this similar to ‘the curtsy’?

Answer from Sherry

The triple hinge is actually the 3 angles of the femur bone in the hip socket. Pronation, supination and neutral. Or how Pinush likes to call them (penguin-feet, pigeon-toed and neutral). Here is a short video of those 3 hip angles. The “hinging” part would be to slowly draw the straight leg in and out with each foot position. Thus why I refer to that as the “hinge” of the hip joint.

Here is the curtsy hip sequence. The foot is in the “neutral” position in this sequence.
