Why forward fold between twists?
Question
Why forward fold between twists?

Answer from Justine
Forward bends are like neutral, do be done after twists, back bends, lateral bends, etc. to bring the spine back to neutral. There can be a twist to both sides, and could even move on to a deeper twist next, but then back to a forward bend to sort of ‘reset’ the spine before moving in a different direction. The forward bends also compensate for the ‘deeper’ poses. I tell my students, when in doubt, do a forward bend (including apanasana and child’s pose.)
